You’d love to be able to play your favourite song but it’s too difficult for you to figure it out and you can’t find a version of it online. Fear not! Get in touch and have the piece transcribed in whatever format you prefer. Even if the piece has no guitar in it at all it can still have a guitar version created. It is also possible to make a solo acoustic version of the song, a version with both the chords and melody together or simply a transcription of the parts of the song as they happen on the record. Be advised that bands and performers often layer multiple guitars when they record so it may not be possible to play all parts simultaneously on one guitar – something that often disappoints novice guitarists. Usually it’s possible to come up with a version that includes all the most important parts at once, however the more parts need to be played the greater the skill level required. For beginners most of the time it’s advisable to play one part at a time or to learn the chords. “There are no chords!” you may cry. “There are always chords” comes back the answer. Even when there are no chords and there is only a melody, a single voice singing, chords are implied. It just takes a little experience, a good ear and knowledge of music theory to know what they might be.
